A Season of Hearts

At one point in my life I wrote for lack of a better description a “Love” poems, full of yearning and similes . I was doing a deep cleaning of files and ran across a lost poem of which I assumed some great poet had written.

A Season of Hearts

 Words fall like leaves
And a gentle wind blows at my heart
Words fall like leaves
And a gentle breeze softly touches me
Words fall like leaves
And a gentle wind takes me
Words fall like leaves
And a gentle wind moves and caresses my floating body
Words fall like leaves
And a gentle wind places me softly on the earth
Words fall like leaves
And the wind catches and pushes me farther from your arms
Words fall like leaves
And I move to its rhythm
Words fall like leaves
And I ride and float, ride and float
Words fall like leaves
And I am still
Words fall like leaves
And I become one among many
Words fall like leaves
Words fall like leaves
Words fall like leaves
Words, So many words
So many words
Your arms reach for me but the wind…

A fragile hope
Gives up its beauty for another season
And my winsome love fall like leaves
Into a bounty of others
Blown by a gentle breeze when I met you
And floated on your words
And I lay here
Yet unbroken
Claimed by the wind
Among fallen leaves
And as I fold deeply into the soul of the earth
Deeply into your open arms
A fragile hope of another season springs
